What to know about Suncorp Stadium

Known to generations of Queenslanders as Lang Park and to league fans as “the Cauldron”, the ground in Milton was redeveloped into its current rectangular form in 2003. Suncorp has held the naming rights since 1994, and that is still the name on 2027 tickets. Steep stands sit close to the pitch, which is why Origin nights are so loud — and why a stadium concert here feels tighter than in an oval venue. The ground is home to the Broncos, the Dolphins, the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar, and it hosts NRL Magic Round. For concerts the stage normally goes at one end with a standing field in front. System of a Down (1 February) and two nights of Bruno Mars (28 February and 1 March) are confirmed for 2027.

Getting to Suncorp Stadium

Suncorp Stadium was rebuilt with no public parking, so arriving by public transport is the plan, not the fallback. Milton station on the Ipswich/Rosewood and Springfield lines is a few minutes’ walk from the southern gates, while Roma Street, the city’s main interchange, is roughly a 15-minute walk along Caxton Street or Hale Street. Stadiums Queensland has long bundled Translink travel into event tickets — check the wording on yours. Special event buses run on major nights. Walking from the CBD takes 20 to 25 minutes, and Caxton Street’s pubs fill well before gates open.

Making the most of a night at Suncorp Stadium

Field standing gets you closest; end-on seats in the lower bowl give a straight view of the screens; side-on upper seats are high but clear. Ticketek is the stadium’s long-standing ticketing partner. Summer concerts can be humid, and storms build late in the afternoon from December to March, so check the forecast and the venue’s weather advice before heading in.
