Start with the right seller — Brisbane tickets in 2027
Brisbane does not have one ticketing company. Each venue — and sometimes each promoter — chooses its agency, and the event announcement always names the authorised seller. Three cases are worth knowing. Suncorp Stadium has a long-running partnership with Ticketek, renewed after a Stadiums Queensland tender. QPAC, including the On the Banks concerts on the Cultural Forecourt, sells through its own service, QTIX. For everything else — the Entertainment Centre, Riverstage, The Fortitude Music Hall, The Tivoli, the Princess Theatre — check the listing for each show: tours run by Live Nation usually go through Ticketmaster, while other promoters may use Ticketek, and small Valley gigs often sell through Moshtix, Oztix or DICE.
The safest habit is to follow the link from the venue’s own event page rather than a search result. Lookalike resale sites buy search ads on popular show names and can appear above the official seller.
Presales: who gets in first — Brisbane gig tickets
Most Brisbane shows in 2027 will have at least one presale before general sale, and big tours often stack several over two or three days. The common types are:
- Artist presales — for the artist’s mailing list or fan club, usually first in line.
- Promoter presales — My Live Nation, Frontier Touring members, Chugg Entertainment members and similar lists.
- Card presales — American Express and Mastercard run presales on selected tours; you pay with the eligible card.
- Telco presales — Telstra Plus and Optus Perks offer access on some tours for eligible customers.
- Venue presales — some Brisbane venues email their subscribers before general sale.
Not every tour uses every type, and allocations are limited. Presale codes, when used, are sent through each programme’s own channel; our alert tells you which presales exist for a show and when they open.
Queensland time: the one-hour trap — Brisbane gig tickets
Queensland stays on Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST, UTC+10) all year. New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT and Tasmania switch to daylight saving from early October to early April. National tours are often announced from Sydney or Melbourne, so during those months an on-sale advertised for “9am AEDT” opens at 8am in Brisbane. Since most 2027 tours go on sale in exactly this window, it catches people every season.
Read the time zone attached to every on-sale time. In the alert emails we send, the time is already converted to Queensland time.
Buying tickets in Brisbane: getting through the queue
Ticketek and Ticketmaster both use virtual waiting rooms for in-demand shows. Join a few minutes before the start time, log in to your account in advance with your payment details saved, and use one device and one browser tab — opening several tabs can cause problems with your place in the queue. Once you reach the front, the clock is short: know which section and price level you want before you get there.
For multi-night runs — Bruno Mars at Suncorp, Sombr or Megan Moroney at the Entertainment Centre, CAKE or Belinda Carlisle at The Fortitude Music Hall — the first night usually sells fastest. If you are flexible, look at the later date first.
Smaller rooms move faster than people expect. The Tivoli holds around 1,500 and the Princess Theatre about 900 standing, so a cult act with a loyal Brisbane following can sell out entirely in presale. For these shows the presale is not a bonus — it is the main chance to buy, so it is worth signing up for the relevant artist and venue lists well ahead.
Brisbane gig tickets: prices, fees and what “dynamic” means
Ticket prices in Australia are set by the promoter at on-sale and are not public until then. Our indicative ranges are based on comparable shows and are a guide only. Expect booking or handling fees on top, plus a delivery or transaction fee depending on the agency and payment method. Some tours use dynamic or “platinum” pricing for premium seats, where the price moves with demand; these are sold through the official agency but cost more than standard tickets in the same area. VIP packages, when offered, are clearly labelled and include extras such as merchandise or early entry.
Resale and Queensland’s scalping rules: buying tickets in Brisbane
If you can no longer go, use the official resale or transfer function of the agency that sold the ticket — Ticketek and Ticketmaster both offer one for many events. Mobile tickets are often only transferable through the official app.
Queensland’s Major Events Act makes it an offence to resell tickets for declared events and events at Stadiums Queensland venues, such as Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba, for more than 10 per cent above the original price. Penalties for scalpers were sharply increased by legislation passed in February 2026, and buyers are no longer fined for purchasing above the cap, to encourage reporting. Promoters can also cancel tickets resold in breach of their conditions, so an unofficial resale ticket can leave you outside the gate.
Accessible seating and the Companion Card: Brisbane gig tickets
Wheelchair spaces, companion seats and other access requirements are usually booked through the agency’s accessibility line or a dedicated booking form, not the standard queue. The Queensland Companion Card is widely accepted at major venues and lets an eligible cardholder bring a companion without paying for a second ticket; check the event page for how to book. Allow extra time on the night, and check Translink’s accessibility information for your station: lifts and ramps get crowded after big shows.
